There was drama at Buganda Road Court after controversial lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi clashed head-on with Chief Magistrate Ritah Kidasa during a tense court session to an extent of wishing she also gets arrested and get a feeling of prison.
Mabirizi, known for his fiery courtroom style and constant battles with the judiciary, did not hold back as he openly accused the magistrate of bias and demanded that she steps off his case.
At one point, the outspoken lawyer shocked the courtroom when he told the magistrate, “I wish you also get arrested,” in a heated exchange that has since gone viral in clips circulating online.
The confrontation happened as Mabirizi appeared in court on fresh charges, including allegedly publishing false information and broadcasting without a licence. These charges come after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) reportedly dropped earlier counts linked to the Computer Misuse Act.

Mabirizi also questioned the court’s authority, insisting Magistrate Kidasa had no jurisdiction over his case and citing personal differences as grounds for her recusal.
However, the court directed him to file written submissions to support his claims something he strongly opposed. Mabirizi argued that he could not prepare written submissions while on remand and instead pushed to present his arguments orally.
The exchange quickly turned chaotic, with Mabirizi further questioning the conduct of the magistrate, including why she appeared to laugh during proceedings, something he interpreted as unfair treatment.
Mabirizi was later remanded, with the case adjourned to April 15 as legal proceedings continue.
