The wait is over for music lovers as Congolese legend Koffi Olomide has touched down in Uganda ahead of his special performance at the Legends of Sound – Afrigo at 50 Golden Jubilee Concert.

The celebrated soukous star landed at Entebbe International Airport to a warm welcome from Afrigo Band leader Moses Matovu and Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group — the show’s official promoters and producers.

Set for Saturday, 16th August at Millennium Park, Lugogo, the concert will be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of African music. Koffi will join Afrigo Band on stage for a powerful live collaboration, blending Congolese rhythms with Ugandan classics in what promises to be an unforgettable performance.

“This collaboration between Koffi Olomide and Afrigo Band will be a celebration of African music heritage like never before,” said Aly Allibhai. “We are bringing together two musical giants to create an unforgettable night for Ugandan music lovers.”

The night will not only mark five decades of Afrigo Band’s excellence, but also showcase top-tier stage production and electrifying performances for fans who have followed their journey since 1975.

Born Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, Koffi is one of Africa’s most influential musicians, credited with pioneering the Tcha Tcho style of soukous. With over 30 albums, multiple Kora Awards, and performances on some of the world’s biggest stages, he remains a true icon of African music.
