Gospel singer and preacher Judith Babirye has shared one of the most heartfelt and little-known desires she’s carried in her heart for years — the wish to have 12 children but she messed up her first marriage and things fell apart.
While preaching to her congregation recently, the former MP opened up about her childhood and personal struggles, revealing that she once dreamt of raising a large family of her own to start a clan — something that meant everything to her given the loneliness she grew up with.
“I am a twin, but my fellow twin passed on. From both my mother’s and father’s sides, I am completely alone. I don’t have a cousin, a stepsister, a stepbrother — not even nephews. In this world, it’s just me and my children,” she shared emotionally.
Judith, who famously introduced Hon. Paul Musoke during her controversial second marriage, reflected that had her relationships remained stable — especially her first marriage — she would have gone on to have a dozen children.
“I wanted 12 children, so I could begin a clan of my own. That might sound strange if you have siblings. But for someone who doesn’t, you’ll understand,” she added.
Though life took a different path, she’s at peace with how it all unfolded, acknowledging that God’s plan is always better, even when it doesn’t match our own.
She also recalled a touching story from her childhood — a time she narrowly survived a fierce storm while at her grandparents’ farm, painting a picture of the many battles she’s faced since she was just nine years old.
