Singer Irene Namubiru has openly expressed her disappointment following scenes from Chosen Becky’s wedding reception, where the her children were seen holding placards praising her new husband as a “caring dad” and adopting his surname.
Irene did not mince her words, making it clear that she was deeply uncomfortable with the children being involved in what many online users have interpreted as a subtle dig at Becky’s ex, Dictator Amir.
Taking to social media, Irene warned parents against dragging children into adult matters, saying they often have no understanding of the messages they are being used to pass.
“Lord help us parents and the generations to come not to exploit, manipulate and brainwash our innocent children who do not know what they are doing, for our own selfish gains!” Irene wrote.
Her statement immediately sparked debate, with many agreeing with her concerns and praising her for speaking up about child protection and responsible parenting. Supporters argued that children should be shielded from personal conflicts and not used as tools to score points in public.
Others, however, felt Irene was overreacting and insisted that Chosen Becky was simply celebrating her new marriage and family structure.
