Former Bukedde TV presenter Flavia Namulindwa has opened up about her past salary at Vision Group, revealing she was paid UGX 3.8 million per month during her time on the popular shows Oluyimba Lwo and Full Doze but wasn’t enough.
Flavia, who left the station around 2019 under unclear circumstances, says the salary was simply not reflective of her impact or needs—a key reason behind her decision to relocate to the United States in search of better opportunities.
“I knew I was worth more,” she said. “The money wasn’t enough, and I wasn’t growing the way I wanted to.”
She used fellow media personality Kakalamu as an example, who reportedly earned just UGX 500K a month before relocating to Canada—money he now allegedly makes in just one day abroad.
Now settled in the U.S., Flavia says her life has significantly improved, and she’s encouraging Ugandans to “know their worth and take bold steps” if they feel undervalued.
“Sometimes it’s not about loyalty to the job,” she stressed. “It’s about knowing your worth and finding where it’s appreciated.”

Flavia is now looking to make a difference back home—officially declaring her bid to contest for the Gomba East MP seat in the 2026 general elections.
