Actress Evelyn Namulondo is officially switching lanes — from stage to Parliament as she’ll be contesting for Makindye West MP come 2026.

Speaking during a TV interview, Namulondo didn’t mince words. She boldly stated:

“I will run for a parliamentary position in this election. I want to represent my people on the floor of Parliament, and I intend to contest for Makindye West MP. I will be elected into leadership because I have the support.”

However, she was a bit cryptic about which ticket she’ll be running under. Even though she’s known for her open support of Bobi Wine’s NUP, she hasn’t officially filed with the party yet — so we don’t know if she’s going solo or waiting for the red beret to co-sign her.

Either way, she’s not here to play.

Her campaign is expected to kick off proper by mid-January 2026, and trust Ugandans to already start picking sides. The current MP Allan Ssewanyana, Musiri David, and a couple of other hopefuls are also in the race — but Evelyn says she’s got the people, period.

She now joins the growing list of artists going political, including Big Eye, Nina Roz, Ssegwanga aka Swegere, Comedian Reign, and even news anchor Zambali Bulasio Mukasa.
