With just a few days to the longwaited for Bebe Cool’s new album Break the Chains, reviews are already trickling in from fellow artists who got exclusive first listens and Elijah Kitaka confesses he was surprised by Bebe Cool’s passion and originality he calls Inspiring.
Elijah Kitaka says he was shocked when Bebe Cool personally called him to preview the album.
“I was surprised he recognized me,” Kitaka shared. “As an upcoming artist trying to break through, getting that call meant a lot.”
Known for hits like Nothing, Dawa, and Ekyange, Elijah Kitaka praised the album’s direction, calling it “inspirational.” He said it gave him a deeper appreciation of Bebe Cool’s artistry and the bold moves he’s making musically.
“As I listened to the album, I discovered another side of Bebe Cool — his passion, his originality,” Kitaka said. “There’s a track where he does a thing that just stays on your mind.”

He noted that Break the Chains shows Bebe Cool stepping out of his comfort zone to explore global sounds while still staying grounded in Ugandan roots.
“What he’s doing, trying to make music for global markets but keeping it Ugandan, that’s inspiring to us young artists,” Kitaka added.
The album, which Bebe Cool has been teasing for over a year, officially drops this Friday, May 30, on all major streaming platforms. While details remain under wraps, a few things are clear — the production spans Uganda and Nigeria, and the rollout has been as secretive as it is strategic.
Earlier this year, Bebe Cool dropped Circumference and Motivation as lead singles, giving fans a small taste of what to expect. Since then, anticipation has grown, with key names like A Pass and Juliana Kanyomozi also hinting at their thoughts after private listens.
