Outspoken activist and former Makerere University researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi has taken a fresh jab at the National Unity Platform (NUP), accusing the party of hypocrisy after rejoining the Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD).
Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) account, Nyanzi didn’t hold back her words as she blasted NUP leaders for what she called a dramatic U-turn after years of rejecting IPOD funds.
“After years of posturing as being too clean to take any dirty money, NUP swallowed its cold vomit, got onto its knees & paws and crawled back to IPOD to beg to sign an MoU for a cut of money. @DavidLRubongoya what does chewing your cold stinking vomit taste like? NUP, wagwan?” — Dr. Stella Nyanzi posted.
Her post has since sparked heavy debate online, with many NUP supporters defending the move as “strategic participation,” while critics accused the party of betraying its earlier stance.
Dr. Nyanzi, known for her sharp tongue and unapologetic activism, has never shied away from calling out political hypocrisy and this time, NUP seems to be squarely in her line of fire.
