Ugandan activist and academic Dr Stella Nyanzi is beaming with joy after announcing she’s found love again — nearly two decades since she last had a partner. She has paraded off her German Lover.
Now living in Germany as an asylum seeker, Stella took to social media to share the big news, dropping a series of loved-up photos with her new man — a middle-aged white gentleman.
“I was created to love & be loved. For me, it is best to be loved openly,” she wrote, making it clear she’s done with secret relationships. “When I love, I love hard. I deserve to be loved as hard & as openly as I do. Let love bloom!”

It’s been a long journey for Stella, who has raised three children — one now 20 and twins aged 18 — on her own. She had her twins after returning to Uganda pregnant, while their father, Ousman, stayed in the UK.
Known for her outspoken activism, poetry, and fearless political commentary, Dr Nyanzi says love now gives her a different kind of strength. “Strength is not just biceps. Strength is will power, character, stability, and leadership. Love gives me strength,” she posted.
