During the somber burial ceremony of Dr. John Bosco Spire Kiggundu, Dr. Justine Walusimbi, the Medical Director of Henrob Hospital, delivered a heartfelt speech that left mourners shedding tears and overwhelmed with emotions.
Speaking with both grief and determination, Dr. Walusimbi described Dr. Kiggundu not only as her boss but as a mentor, visionary, and selfless leader whose impact on women’s health was immeasurable.
“He was the kind of person who worked beyond the clock, not for money, but because he genuinely wanted to see women become mothers. Many patients came to us after losing all hope, and Dr. Kiggundu would give them that hope back—sometimes at no cost at all,” she said.
Fighting back tears, she emphasized how Dr. Kiggundu’s humility and devotion to patients shaped Henrob Hospital into a sanctuary for countless couples battling infertility and other reproductive health challenges.

She shared how, even during his own health struggles, he remained committed to improving maternal care and was actively building a vision for specialized fertility and laparoscopic treatment in Uganda.
“He had dreams—big ones—for Henrob Hospital and for the future of fertility care in this country. He wanted to build a center that could rival international standards, so no woman would ever have to fly out for treatment again. And we will not let that dream die,” she pledged.
Dr. Walusimbi assured the mourners that despite the immense void left by his passing, the hospital team remains united and committed to carrying forward his legacy, guided by the values he instilled in them: compassion, integrity, innovation, and excellence in care.
“Henrob was his heartbeat. Now, it becomes our mission,” she concluded, drawing applause and emotional nods from both staff and mourners.

Dr. Kiggundu’s death is a loss not just to his family, but to the country’s entire medical industry.
