Drama has rocked the family of the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya following DNA tests that confirmed only four out of nine children claimed to be his are actually biologically related to the former Kawempe North MP.
The results, which have shocked the public, were revealed by Ssegirinya’s former assistant Aalex Lusswa Luwemba, who didn’t hold back during a media interview.
“God is great, and the results are out,” Luwemba declared. “Those women were already fighting for his property before he was even buried. It didn’t feel right.”
The youngest child was among those ruled out as his, raising eyebrows over whether some of the paternity claims were fueled by a rush for inheritance, especially since Ssegirinya passed away without a will.

The late MP’s estate has been at the centre of chaos, with several women stepping forward soon after his death to claim rights on behalf of their children. The DNA results have now tilted the legal balance in favour of only four.
According to Luwemba, the legal process to secure the estate is ongoing, with Hon. Medard Ssegona and a legal team currently supervising the administration of Ssegirinya’s property, ensuring the rightful heirs are recognized and protected.
This latest twist is likely to fuel further legal drama, but it also sets a precedent for how Uganda might begin handling inheritance cases involving public figures who die intestate (without a will).
