Firebase Musicians Dax Vibez and Mikie Wine, both younger brothers of National Unity Platform (NUP) president Bobi Wine, were reportedly arrested in the early hours of Monday morning while returning from a performance in Jinja.
Sources say the two were intercepted by police at around 2 AM, shortly after headlining Baba TV’s Ekitudha event. They were reportedly traveling with their respective teams when law enforcement officers stopped them and proceeded to detain the entire entourage.
A video seen online shows visibly distressed scenes, with Dax Vibez shouting for help, insisting they were “arrested for no reason.” The clip captures the moment officers surround and lead the artists away under unclear circumstances.
So far, Police have not issued an official statement explaining the grounds for the arrest, leaving supporters and fans in suspense.
Given the artists’ strong association with Uganda’s opposition movement and their familial ties to Bobi Wine, speculation has already begun to swirl online about whether the arrest was politically motivated or a routine security operation gone sideways.
