Da Hares founder, renowned Afro-fusion star David Lutalo has once again captivated audiences with his latest single and official music video, “LEO”which translates to “Today,” a heartfelt tribute to loyalty and the enduring power of true affection from his true love.
The music video, directed by Crystal Prime is already out and , tells a story of a partner who chooses love over all else, standing firm even when external pressures threaten to pull the couple apart. Lutalo draws a deep emotional parallel between his partner’s devotion and the “pure, patient, and real” love of a mother. This theme is established early in the song as he sings about finding someone who shares the virtuous “characters of my mama”.
Produced by Pamola (Dahares) and mastered by the legendary Herbert Skillz, “LEO” features Lutalo’s signature high-toned, melodic vocals. The lyrics feature a blend of Luganda and Swahili, expressing a sense of belonging.
Lutalo repeatedly celebrates his find, singing, “Mrembo wangu nimempata ndani ya moyo” (I have found my beautiful one in my heart), reinforcing the song’s core message of emotional fulfillment.
