Caught on the home’s CCTV system, the killer is heard saying:
“Deborah, do you think it’s only you with children? I have come to kill you, and nothing will stop me.”
This shocking statement has led investigators to believe the attack was deeply personal — likely carried out by someone close to the family.
The couple, aged 69 and 62, were discovered Saturday morning by their housemaid. Their bodies, soaked in blood with deep stab wounds, were found inside the house. Police now suspect aggravated revenge or family conflict as a possible motive.
“The scene was horrifying,” said police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire. “This was not random.”
Forensics teams have taken the CCTV audio into evidence, and a manhunt is underway. Police are profiling relatives and close associates, with detectives saying the killer likely knew the couple well.
The Mutaagas were described by neighbors as peaceful and kind — their deaths have left the entire Entebbe community terrified and demanding justice.
More updates coming as the investigation unfolds.
