CBS FM has come out to silence rumours surrounding the sudden absence of one of its longest-serving presenters, Meddie Nsereko Ssebuliba, who has been missing from the airwaves for weeks.

Social media had been buzzing with claims that the veteran journalist known for his fearless political talk shows on the Bulange-based station had either been sacked or secretly relocated to the UK.

But CBS management has now confirmed that Nsereko was not fired. According to an official statement released by the station, the respected broadcaster applied for and was granted medical leave to undergo specialised treatment abroad.

The station also reassured fans that Nsereko’s health is being closely monitored and that they remain optimistic about his recovery.

“CBS management is constantly monitoring Mr. Meddie Nsereko Ssebuliba’s situation and wishes him a speedy recovery and safe travels back home to continue serving CBS and the Kingdom at large,” the statement reads.

Fans and colleagues have since flooded social media with messages wishing the legendary presenter a quick recovery and safe return to the mic.
