Buka Chimey Cries His Pain Out in Honor of His Late Mother With a Soul Tribute “Hello Maama”

Hello Maama - Buka Chimey

Buka Chimey has released a heartfelt new track titled Hello Maama, a raw, emotionally tribute to his late mother — and to everyone who’s lost a parent. He has dropped this to celebrate his Birthday and we have the audio download here.

Unveiled on his birthday, the song lands like a soft whisper to the heavens, carrying with it the weight of memories, love, and longing. But Hello Maama is not just a personal letter to the woman who gave him life — it’s a universal balm for those carrying the ache of loss, especially of a parent.

“This song is dedicated to everyone who has lost a Mother or Father,” Buka opened up to Blizz Uganda. “May their love and light continue guiding you.”

Sung in a conversational tone, Hello Maama loosely translates to “Hello Mother” — a musical dialogue between a son and the spirit of his departed mom. It is reflective, nostalgic, and grounding. The pain is real, but so is the comfort.

An emotional snippet from the video

With the audio set over the Ghetto Riddim and produced by Alpha on the Beat of Klone House, the audio is warm yet haunting. The accompanying video, directed by Patrick Miles of Fire House Records, captures that delicate space between grief and gratitude — portraying a man shaped by his mother’s absence, yet guided by her presence in every step.

Buka Chimey, known for his poetic versatility and deep-rooted storytelling, doesn’t just rap or sing — he speaks to the soul. And with Hello Maama, he reminds us that the people we love never truly leave.
