Apostle Grace Lubega of Phaneroo Ministries is dreaming heaven-high—he wants to build a church worth a whopping $55 million (roughly UGX 210 billion)… and he says he’s doing it without borrowing or asking anyone for money!
Yep, you read that right.
While preaching to his congregation, Lubega confidently declared,
“I’m planning to build a 55 million US dollar building and I’m not borrowing. I’m Abraham’s son. Oh, I mean it.”
And if you thought that was just holy talk, he added that faith—not fat wallets—is the key to pulling it off.
“I know there’s a young man in the ministry who is ready to give a million dollars on that. He doesn’t have a job, but he has the heart. That’s the one I’m looking for,” he said, stressing that faith beats finances when it comes to giving.
He even threw a slight jab at the rich, saying,
“I know people who have the money but don’t have the faith to give.”
As expected, the internet exploded. Some people praised him for walking in faith, but others weren’t buying it—accusing him of sugarcoating a master plan to milk his congregation.
A few even reminded us that before the pulpit, Lubega was a banker. So maybe this blend of faith and financial fluency is part of his divine strategy?
It’s funny that we can come together as Christians to contribute money and build a $55m church but not a hospital, factory, or school. pic.twitter.com/Wo1smcDx6L
