Dancehall fans are eating good this year after Beenie Gunter teamed up with Jamaican star Dexta Daps on a fresh banger titled “Dreams Can’t Die.”
The track officially dropped on February 20, just days before Gunter released his long-awaited album New School Tape Vol. 1 on February 23, his first full project since 2022.
According to Terror Family Productions boss Mark Lawrence, the song is bigger than just music, calling it a symbol of how dancehall is growing globally while still keeping its roots intact.
Talent Africa’s Aly Allibhai also revealed the vibe was clear from the jump.
He says the first demo already sounded special, with an uplifting but still militant feel. something that clearly translated into the final track.
“Dreams Can’t Die” blends that signature dancehall bounce with a motivational message about pushing through struggle, staying focused, and believing in your purpose. Beenie Gunter comes through with his clean, commanding flow, while Dexta Daps adds that smooth, emotional delivery fans love him for.

The track is part of New School Tape Vol. 1, an album where Gunter gets more personal opening up about his journey, industry struggles, management changes in 2024, and his growth into one of Uganda’s leading dancehall voices.
This also marks his first major Jamaica-based collaboration of 2026, showing just how far his sound is reaching.
From “Pon Mi” to “Olina Work,” Gunter has been building this moment and now with international links like this, it’s clear he’s not slowing down anytime soon.
“Dreams Can’t Die” is already making rounds online, and fans are loving the cross-continental vibe.
