Bebe Cool, the Gagamel boss has officially released the video for Hidden Agendas, a fan-favourite off his Break the Chains album, and honestly, it’s one of those videos that feel more like a film than just a music project.
The afrobeat jam, which came out in May with the album, already had fans vibing thanks to its smooth, melodious flow and Bebe’s signature storytelling (even though, let’s be real, the Pidgin can be tricky for many to decode). But the video, directed by Garrick Williams—the same genius behind Motivation and Circumference—adds a whole new meaning to the track.
Bebe Cool plays a man who blindly follows his crew only to realize they’ve been setting him up from day one. The video kicks off with an elderly Bebe Cool narrating the tale to his grandchildren before the visuals cut to scenes of him in the mines, then signing shady office documents, and finally being whisked away by police. That betrayed look he throws at his so-called friends as he’s arrested? Priceless.

But the real magic is in the details. Instead of the usual music video formula of throwing in random models, Bebe went cinematic—tapping into Uganda’s film industry for professional actors. Thanks to casting agent Kasule Douglas Benda, the video stars Angel Toni Acer (yeah, the same guy who played Cindy Sanyu’s love interest in Crossroads), Christiano Okitwi (remember that controversial MTN ad?), and Crispus Ogwal. To crown it all, award-winning makeup artist Esther Nakaziba of Karakta Makeup and Costume Festival fame also brought her touch to the production.
This makes Hidden Agendas the third video off Break the Chains and probably the boldest. It’s not just a video—it’s an artistic statement. Bebe Cool is clearly pushing Ugandan music visuals into the cinematic zone, bridging music and film in ways that could reshape how stories are told in the industry.
