Bebe Cool drops Break the Chains Album

Music giant Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool has officially released his much-anticipated album Break The Chains, and from the glitz of the launch to the sounds of the music, it’s clear — this is not your average Bebe Cool project.

Hosted at Noni Vie Lounge, the Break The Chains album listening party drew Kampala’s entertainment A-listers — from music stars, media personalities, to the crème de la crème of the industry.

With fireworks lighting up the midnight sky, the night was nothing short of magical. The crowd was treated to an unforgettable evening co-hosted by Nigeria’s celebrated media personality Adesope Olajide aka Shopsydoo (Energy Gawd) and NBS TV’s Viana Indi. On the decks, DJ Slick Stuart kept the vibes tight throughout the session.

Bebe Cool Breaks New Ground

During a live sit-down with Shopsydoo, Bebe Cool took fans behind the scenes, breaking down the creative journey behind each of the 16 tracks on the album. Known for his distinctive hoarse voice and bold style, the artist is clearly stepping into new sonic territory with this release.

“This is the beginning of a new journey for both African music and Ugandan music at large,” Bebe Cool said, beaming with pride.

Infused with Afrobeats, Afrotech, and afro house vibes, the album stretches beyond the ordinary. Bebe isn’t just sticking to what fans expect — he’s pushing boundaries and embracing Afrocentric sounds that are dominating the global stage.

And yes, Break The Chains is about evolution. Bebe Cool made it clear: he’s now focused more on growing numbers on streaming platforms than filling concert venues — a strong stance against music piracy and a nod to the future of digital music.

A special highlight of the night was when Joshua Baraka joined Bebe on stage as their track Cheque played for the first time.

The album also features a powerful collabo with Nigerian superstar Yemi Alade, plus cameos from local music royalty like Juliana Kanyomozi, Azawi, Cindy, A Pass, and Swangz Avenue’s iconic producer Benon Mugumbya.

Azawi, visibly moved, praised Bebe’s work ethic and the album’s depth:
