Musician Eddy Kenzo has sparked debate online after revealing that he doesn’t benefit anything from standing with Bobi Wine and his National Unity Platform (NUP).
Speaking in an interview on YouTube, Kenzo said that as a man with responsibilities, he cannot just support Bobi without knowing how he will survive. He explained that he has children, a wife, and a family to look after and therefore needs positions that can sustain him.
“If I support him, in which office will I be? Where will I eat from? Personally I have a family to take care of. Why doesn’t he give me his seat and support me? That is when you know it is for him, not for us,” Kenzo said.
The Federation boss also hailed President Museveni for being more supportive of the creative industry, saying the Head of State always engages artists and offers them opportunities, unlike Bobi Wine who has never called him for such discussions.
“President Museveni calls and asks you to gather your peers so he can help. Bobi has never sent me such a message,” Kenzo noted.
Kenzo further disclosed that many creatives who joined NUP were later sidelined. He mentioned Jose Chameleone, Patricko Mujjuko, Flavia Namulindwa and comedian Reign among those who were denied NUP cards despite their support.
“We supported him, but we realized it was not about artists—it was about him,” Kenzo stated.
