The Kampala Sheraton Gardens turned into a comedy kitchen on Friday night as Uganda’s comedy sweetheart Anne Kansiime was joined by friends and fellow celebs in a wild celebration her 10-year journey in comedy. We have all the fun moments.
Dubbed Comedy Grill, the event was organized by Talent Africa Group and sponsored by Uganda Waragi Lemon & Ginger, Sheraton Hotel, Capital FM, and Safe Boda—and eh, they really brought the heat.
From the red carpet to the cocktails, it was all vibes and laughter. Before the roast madness began, Daniel Omara stepped up to tickle the crowd with a quick stand-up set.
Then —MCs Tuwangye Richard and Deedan Muyiira jumped on stage and officially fired up the grill.
Roast after roast, the lineup didn’t disappoint. Madrat & Chiko, Salvador, GNL Zamba, Nana Kagga, Gaetano Kaggwa, Prim Asiimwe, Skylanta, and even Dr. Miria Matembe came loaded. No soft punches. Kansiime was toasted proper!
And trust the queen to show up in full bloom—literally. Anne made her grand entrance in a cute pink floral gown, sat on that throne, and laughed her heart out as jokes flew left and right. When her turn finally came, she stood up, dished out her own spice, and then hit us with a line that had everyone cracking: “You’ve let me make a fool of myself, and now my heart is full.”

It wasn’t just fun and fire—this was a moment. Talent Africa boss Aly Allibhai couldn’t hide the excitement. “This was big for Anne and the whole comedy game in Uganda. It was fresh, fun, and full of love.”
If this night was anything to go by, Uganda just might have a new comedy tradition on its hands. And honestly, we’re here for it.
