Kampala’s entertainment and nightlife industry is in deep shock following confirmation of the death of popular city disc jockey DJ Ciza, real name Mwalye Seth, one of the most familiar faces that sadly passed away.

DJ Ciza reportedly passed away on Saturday after suffering a sudden heart-related complication. News of his death spread fast across social media, leaving fans, fellow DJs and event promoters struggling to come to terms with the loss of a man many describe as energetic, disciplined and always full of life.

Known by his street-loved nicknames “The Real Crowd Pleaza” and “Muzukulu Wa Decka,” DJ Ciza built his name by doing one thing extremely well understanding the crowd. Whether it was a packed nightclub, a concert stage, a corporate gig or a private party, Ciza knew exactly when to switch genres, slow it down or turn the place upside down.

For years, his sound became part of Kampala’s nightlife. Weekend after weekend, his mixes powered some of the city’s most memorable nights, earning him a loyal following and consistent bookings across top venues. Promoters trusted him. Partygoers followed him. And young DJs looked up to him.

Beyond the decks, colleagues say DJ Ciza was humble, approachable and generous with advice, often guiding upcoming DJs trying to break into the competitive entertainment industry. Many have credited him for opening doors, sharing opportunities and setting an example through professionalism rather than noise.

Following confirmation of his death, tributes have flooded social media, with fans sharing videos, photos and memories from nights he soundtracked. Fellow entertainers have described him as a passionate worker whose love for music went beyond fame and money.

By the time of publication, detailed funeral arrangements were yet to be officially communicated, but the entertainment fraternity continues to rally around his family as they mourn.
