Ssabakabona Jjumba Lubowa Aligaweesa has revealed that his wife, popular traditional healer Ssenga Kulanama, has been given just three months to live unless she urgently undergoes a liver transplant that costs Shs800m.
Speaking emotionally, Jjumba said doctors warned them that Kulanama’s condition has badly worsened and that she is currently surviving “by the grace of God.”
While the couple was in Germany last year seeking specialised treatment, medical experts reportedly told them a liver transplant was the only option to save her life.
According to Jjumba, the procedure and related medical costs are estimated at about Shs800 million, money they have so far failed to raise. He claims attempts to seek help from President Museveni were blocked by what he called “mafias in government,” leaving them stranded.
The situation has reportedly pushed Ssenga Kulanama to openly support NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi, whom she hopes can one day address her struggles if he becomes president.
Kulanama has also claimed her illness was caused by poisoning from fellow traditional healers. She alleges that after declaring herself leader of all traditional healers in Uganda and gaining government recognition, some rivals turned against her and plotted her downfall.
She has since sought treatment both locally and abroad, but doctors have now warned that without a liver transplant, she may not survive beyond April this year.
🚨 Renowned traditionalist Ssenga Kulanama has appealed for prayers from well-wishers as she battles serious health complications.
She revealed that she was poisoned in 2016, which affected her liver. The condition has since worsened, leaving her in constant pain.
