The Kwetu Kwanza Fashion Festival is to take center stage at this year’s Nyege Nyege Festival 2025, uniting music, fashion, and African creativity where the 6th edition of Kwetu Kwanza will run from November 20th to 23rd, alongside Nyege Nyege’s 10th anniversary edition at Kalagala Falls, Kangulumira.
This year’s Kwetu Kwanza theme, “What Can Emerge from Collapse?”, invites a deep reflection on creativity, sustainability, and rebirth in Africa’s fashion industry.
Founded by IGC Fashion, the festival stands as East Africa’s leading platform for circular and regenerative fashion, spotlighting indigenous design, storytelling, and craftsmanship under the guiding belief “Ours First” (Kwetu Kwanza).
Over 30 designers from Uganda, Africa, and beyond will showcase innovative collections crafted from reclaimed and traditional materials, redefining what African fashion means today.

Attendees can expect a fusion of fashion exhibitions, live performances, film screenings, and daily workshops on tailoring, screen printing, and indigenous textile techniques.
For the first time ever, Kwetu Kwanza will be hosted on-site at Nyege Nyege, located next to the Hakuna Kulala Stage at Adrift Overland, Kayunga uniting the energy of the continent’s biggest music and fashion movements.
The collaboration also includes residencies at Nyege Villa and IGC Fashion Residency, where designers and musicians co-create unique artistic experiences blending sound, style, and storytelling.
Alongside the fashion festivities, Nyege Nyege 2025 will feature five major stages and over 300 acts covering electronic, dancehall, amapiano, afrobeats, live bands, and traditional African rhythms under the theme “Ekyigunda Ky’omuliro – The Gathering of the Flame.”
Tickets are already on sale at nyegenyege.com/tickets, and this year’s event is proudly powered by the Ministry of Wildlife and Antiquities, Uganda Tourism Board, NRG Radio, NBS TV, Trace TV, Flycorp, Uganda Waragi, and Talent Africa Group.
