Police has arrested a city DJ known as Selecta Shaban, who is accused of conning Shs15 million from a Kadana identified as Maria, a Ugandan domestic worker in Saudi Arabia who fell in love and started sending him money.
According to reports, Shaban was caught while hiding in a rented house in Kawempe after going off the radar for weeks.
When interrogated in the video seen by Blizz Uganda, Shaban denied being Maria’s boyfriend, claiming they were just “TikTok friends.”
However, Maria insists the two were in a relationship and that she sent him the money out of love and trust. “I never expected him to steal from me because I was madly in love with him,” she said emotionally after confronting him.
Police are still investigating the matter as Maria demands her money back, while netizens continue to follow the love-gone-wrong saga.
