British R&B superstar Craig David is headlining World of Sounds Season 2 on 29th August 2025 at Sheraton Hotel Gardens, and now the organisers have added another heavyweight — DJ Akio Kawahito, the king of R&B turntables.
For those who don’t know, Akio isn’t your usual deejay. The man is an R&B addict who grew up in the 90s golden era, a creative director, event organiser, and he even dabbles in youth development. From slow jams to uptempo grooves, Akio knows how to keep the crowd floating. And trust him to hype you up with the mic because these days he doesn’t just play, he performs.
At World of Sounds, Akio will be curating a special Jukebox session, a fan-engagement experience, plus lighting up the official afterparty at Noni Vie Parking dubbed “R&B and Slow Jams”. Vibes for days!

The lineup is also dripping with Ugandan R&B royalty — Kenneth Mugabi, Benon & Vampos, Steve Keys, Irene Ntale, Naava Gray, Juliana Kanyomozi, Unknown Prosper, and Laika Music. Basically, if you love smooth voices and nostalgic vibes, you cannot afford to miss this one.
Organiser Bushington promises a soulful night of art, music, and cultural expression, bigger than the first edition that premiered in 2023. And now, with Akio on board, the show has gone from hot to volcanic.
So mark your calendars — 29th August 2025, Sheraton Hotel Gardens, Kampala. World of Sounds Season 2 is not just a concert; it’s R&B history in the making.
