The Tooro Kingdom, in partnership with Talent Africa Group, has announced the 30th Empango Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty King Oyo Rukidi IV, set to run from 10th to 13th September 2025 in Fort Portal.

The grand celebration, dubbed Ekyooto Ha Mpango, is expected to be a colorful cultural experience filled with music, fashion, art, tourism, and community spirit.

King Oyo, who became King at just 3 years old in 1995, will be marking 30 years on the throne. Over the years, he has become a symbol of unity and modern leadership in the Tooro Kingdom, championing causes like education, health, and cultural preservation.

This year’s Ekyooto Ha Mpango festival will run for four days and will include:

  • A music festival featuring top Ugandan artists and local performers,
  • A fashion gala celebrating traditional and modern Ugandan designs,
  • A cultural exhibition showcasing Tooro Kingdom’s rich history,
  • Cultural experiences like traditional dance and storytelling,
  • Tourism excursions across Fort Portal’s scenic spots like the Rwenzori Mountains and nearby national parks,
  • And sporting events aimed at uniting the community.

According to the organizers, the festival will not only honor King Oyo’s legacy but also push tourism and cultural exchange in the region. Sponsors, well-wishers, and the public are invited to be part of this historic celebration.

The event is being organized by Tooro Kingdom and managed by Talent Africa Group, with full support from a strong local team based in Fort Portal.
