Social media is furious after Frank Gashumba and his newly-introduced wife, Patience Malaika Mutoni, made their first public appearance together—but noticeably the chemistry was off as they couldn’t even walk together or hold hands.
The couple stepped out on Saturday night at The Ben’s show held at Kampala Serena Hotel, just weeks after their traditional Gusaba ceremony. While fans were excited to finally see the two together in public, many couldn’t help but notice what was missing.
Clips circulating online show the pair walking side by side, dressed casually and appearing comfortable—yet no hand-holding, no touchy moments, and not even one of Gashumba’s signature cheeky smiles.
“He looked too serious for a man who just introduced his wife. Where is the glow, the joy, the spark?” one user commented.
Another added,
“We just want to see a little PDA. Holding hands isn’t too much to ask!”
Malaika, dressed in a laid-back striped outfit, seemed calm and composed, while Gashumba also maintained a cool demeanor, avoiding any public displays of affection that many felt would have cemented their image as a newlywed power couple.
Some fans defended them, suggesting that not all couples are into PDA and prefer keeping their affection private, while others insist that a little hand-holding wouldn’t hurt—especially on their first official appearance as husband and wife.
