Media personality and city socialite Sheilah Carol Gashumba has spoken out about her father’s traditional wedding to 26-year-old Patience Mutoni Malaika, making it very clear that she has no plans of calling her new stepmother “mum” and wants 2 siblings.
Sheilah took to social media on Friday morning to respond to a tongue-in-cheek tweet from media personality and politician Simon Kaggwa-Njala, who jokingly asked whether she would now refer to Patience as her mother.
Sheilah didn’t flinch. In an honest tweet, she responded:
“Unfortunately, I can’t. I will only call the woman who gave birth to me ‘mum’, so everyone must calm down. Wama congratulations beautiful Malaika!! I need two siblings.”

The response has since gone viral. This public reaction came just hours after Frank Gashumba, the outspoken political analyst and social activist, was introduced to his new fiancée’s family in a Gusaba ceremony held in Sembabule on Thursday, 15 May 2025. The private but high-profile traditional event attracted a mix of political figures, media personalities, and society elites.
Despite the age gap, social media has largely reacted with amusement, blessings, and memes — because when it comes to Ugandan love stories, drama and charm often go hand-in-hand.
Meanwhile, Sheilah’s request for two siblings has sparked speculations — is she ready to become a big sister again? Or was that just a classic Gashumba-style PR move?

Congratulations to the couple — and Sheilah, we’ll be waiting to see if your sibling request is granted!
