Drama unfolded this morning as a group of social media influencers contracted by betting giant 22Bet, including stage comedians Merry Heart Tumbeetu, stormed the streets, protesting against months of unpaid salaries.
The influencers, who had been signed to push the company’s campaigns online, claimed they have not received a single payment since their contracts were inked. After failed private negotiations and constant reminders to management, the group said they had no option but to take their frustration public.
What began as a peaceful demonstration quickly spiraled into chaos after tempers flared between the influencers and company representatives. Security was called in to restore calm, but the protesters vowed to keep pushing until their dues are cleared.
“We worked tirelessly to push their campaigns, but for months now, they’ve ignored our pleas for payment. We deserve what is rightfully ours,” one influencer told reporters at the scene.
By press time, 22Bet had not issued any official statement addressing the allegations.
