Kadongo Kamu singer Kazibwe Kapo has challenged women who claim he fathered their children to come forward and establish paternity through DNA testing while he is still alive.

Speaking in a television interview, Kazibwe said he would prefer any paternity disputes involving him to be settled during his lifetime rather than after his death.

“I don’t expect to die first, and then these women bring the children. Bring them while I am still alive and let us do the DNA,” he said.

The singer said his comments were partly prompted by the controversy that followed the death and burial of Afrigo Band legend Moses Matovu, when a young man came forward claiming to be the late musician’s son.

Kazibwe questioned why alleged children are sometimes introduced to their purported fathers many years later, saying such matters can become more complicated when the alleged father has already died.

He pointed to Matovu’s case, noting that the musician lived to 77 while some of the people connected to the paternity claims were already adults in their 40s and 50s.

According to Kazibwe, establishing paternity early can help families avoid uncertainty and disagreements that may arise following a father’s death.

“If you have my child, bring that child to me. Let us establish the truth while I am still alive,” he added.

His remarks come amid renewed public discussion in Uganda about paternity claims involving deceased public figures and the challenges of establishing biological relationships after death.
