Zimbabwean Veteran Musician Oliver Mtukudzi has died according to news brought it to Blizz Uganda. Mtukudzi died today 23rd January 2019 at the Avenues clinic in Harare Wednesday.
The 66-year-old music superstar with 66 albums to his name, was admitted at the Avenues clinic in Harare for the past few days where he was battling an undisclosed illness.
Oliver arrived in South Africa on Monday to promote his upcoming album, but woke up to the devastating news on Tuesday morning that his friend Bra Hugh Masekela died following a nine-year battle with prostate cancer.
Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi was a Zimbabwean musician, businessman, philanthropist, human rights activist and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Southern Africa Region. Tuku was considered to have been Zimbabwe’s most renowned and internationally recognised cultural icon of all time.
