Renowned events emcee and musician MC Fish has opened up about a serious health struggle, revealing that he is battling liver problems which he attributes to years of excessive alcohol consumption.
The former television presenter and comedian made the revelation while appearing on Spark TV, where he appealed for financial assistance to access further medical treatment.
MC Fish said he frequently fell ill before doctors recommended that he undergo a scan. He said the results showed significant liver damage, which he believes was caused by his long history of alcohol consumption.
“It started as a joke but later became a serious issue. When I went for a scan, they found my liver so damaged. Waragi caused it. I have lived an alcoholic life right from my grandfather. I started drinking when I was 14 years old,” he said.
MC Fish also advised people who drink alcohol to avoid doing so on an empty stomach, although this does not prevent alcohol-related health risks.
According to the emcee, he currently needs specialised medical attention but lacks the financial means to afford the treatment. He said he is relying on daily medication to manage the pain as he seeks assistance.

“At this point, I’m not financially stable and I call upon all well wishers to help me. I know there are very many good people out there; I need to live and I promise I will never drink again,” he appealed.
MC Fish specifically called on some of his former friends and colleagues, including Toolman, Ronnie Banton and General Mega Dee, particularly those living abroad, to support him during the difficult period.
“You wouldn’t want to find me dead,” he added.
The former television personality also spoke about his personal life, claiming that he is currently living largely alone after his wife of six years left him.
MC Fish said his demanding lifestyle and long working hours contributed to problems in their marriage. He claimed that he would often leave home around 8am and return as late as 4am.
MC Fish is now appealing to well-wishers for financial support as he continues managing his condition and seeks access to further medical care.
