After being put on hold for months, Buganda Kingdom finally set 3rd July as the official date for this year’s Kabaka birthday run and singer Prince Omar has bought hundreds of them and paid handsomely for them to be given away.

Buganda put the celebrations of the Kabaka’s birthday celebrations that also include a run to a halt until King Ronald Muwenda Muwenda Mutebi II who was abroad until returned from Europe where he had gone official duties including getting medical check-up from specialists.

Now that all is set, Prince Omar showed up at Buganda Kingdom's BBS Telefayina where he bought hundreds of running kits that were handed over to him by Owe'kitiibwa Henry Ssekabembe, the Buganda Minister for Youths.

These jerseys were later on dedicated to singer Prince Omar's fans through BBS Telefayina and CBS FM as he gave them away. This year’s birthday run will just like the previous year be aimed towards the fight of HIV/AIDs under the theme, “Men against AIDS to Save the Girl Child”, intended to drive awareness about HIV/AIDS and encourage men to be at the forefront by urging them to get tested, get treated and ultimately protect women against infection.
