National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and the party’s top leaders have refused to hand over leadership positions to Moses Kibalama Nkonge and his group who ‘ousted’ them days ago.

On Friday, Kibalama and his group held an ‘NUP Delegates Conference’ in which they fired Bobi Wine and his Kamwokya-based group for reportedly failing to offer leadership and for flouting terms of a memorandum of understanding under which the People Power pressure group acquired NUP.

Besides Bobi Wine, other fired from NUP top leadership include Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, Spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi. But these have refused to quit or hand over office to the Kibalama group whom they referred to as ‘crooks’ who are reportedly impersonating and masquerading as NUP leaders.

The Kamwokya group has urged its supporters to “ignore” Kibalama and to treat all his announcements and “all diversionary attempts” with contempt.

Bobi Wine and his team have distanced themselves from Kibalama’s delegates conference, making it clear that “there has been no Delegates Conference of the Party in the recent past.”
