SC Villa has on Tuesday morning gone to their social media platforms and confirmed to their fans how the club's elections will see only one candidate Umar Mandela come to contest.

The club is set to host it's presidential elections on 13th November,2021 following the cancellation of the prior elections meant to take place in August this year on orders of the high court of the civil division of Kampala after a petition by Nambalirwa Breda Kawuma.

Part of the document released and signed on by Villa Electoral committee chairman Isaac Walukaga read..

"Following our previous correspondences on proceedings pertaining to SC Villa's elections, we are glad to advise that Hajji Omar Mandela was successfully vetted by the Vetting Committee of Board of trustees.

Accordingly, Hajji Omar Ahmed Mandela is hereby declared a sole candidate for the club's Elections. The Villa Electoral Committee (VEC) and all stakeholders shall convene on the 13th November 2021 at 10:00am at a venue that shall shortly be communicated to formerly announce Hajji Omar Ahmed Mandela as the elected president of SC Villa."

In the suspended elections, two candidates meant to compete included Medard Lubega Ssegona, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Busiro East Constituency and lawyer Denis Mbidde.

SC Villa are currently in the relegation zone in 14th position on the Star Times Uganda Premier League table with only three points from two matches played, three matches less of other teams after they were earlier excluded from the fixtures having failed to fulfill the requirements as per the FUFA licensing committee.
