Ethiopia's St. George FC Confirms Signing Uganda's Charles Lukwago

Ethiopia's record league champions (29) St. George FC have today 16th September,2021 announced the signing of shot stopper Charles Lwanga from Uganda Premier League entity KCCA FC on a two year contract.

” Charles Lukwago has arrived in Addis Ababa. He joins the Horses for two years. Tomorrow, he will start his training with other team members.”

Charles Lukwago who has played for the 'Kasasiro Boys' since 2016 when he joined from Lweza has been the club's captain since Timothy Awany left KCCA FC in 2019 for Israel's.

He has guided the club to Uganda Premier League championship, Uganda Cup, the Pilsner super eight title, CECAFA Kagame Club Cup champions and now joins Ethiopia's giants St. George FC.

St. George FC has been home to many other Ugandan goalkeers including Dennis Onyango, Posnet Omonyi, Karyesubula Hannington, Robert Ondgkara.

The club has also been home to other Ugandan outfield players like Asan Bajope, Sula Matovu Maluda, Robert Ssentongo, Patrick Ochan, Hassan Wasswa, Antony Bongole, Geoffrey Sserunkuuma and many more.

The news of former Sports Club Victoria University FC goalkeeper Charles Lukwago leaving KCCA FC comes a few days after KCCA FC announced signing Derrick Ochan for his third stint at KCCA FC. The first was in 2008/9, the second in 2015/18 and now the third 2021/23.

Lukwago joins the queue of players who have exited the club who include Joseph Kafumbe, Juma Balinya, goalker Matovu Hassan and Keziron Kizito.
