Back to African continent football for the first time since 2015, URA FC were 2:1 winners against Ethiopia's Coffee FC in a match played at St. Mary's Stadium, Kitende.
Steven 'Desse' Mukwala scored a brace in the 23rd minute off a well laid header by Vianney Ssekajugo and doubled the lead in 37th minute off a good ball crossed by returnee soldier Said Kyeyune.
Ethiopia's vital away goal came from William Tesfay in the 55th minute meaning they will need a 1:0 home with to advance to the next level.
It was a good display from debutant Derrick Ndahiro whose crosses were fantastic one of which resulted into Ssekajugo's assist to Mukwala.
It was also a fantastic debut for Vianney Ssekajugo who kept threatening the opponents and finished the day registering an assist to his name.
However, it looked like Huudi Mulikyi and Najib Fesali still have work hard on their partnership as it looked leaky.
It was new coach Sam Timbe's first match in charge of the tax collectors after arriving two days ago but despite the win, the Ethiopian side seemed more of a ball playing side and an impressive one and therefore URA should worry of the match in Ethiopia next week.
URA FC who where playing in the tournament for only the second time will need to draw away from home so as to get past this preliminary round.
