Former Presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Robert Sentamu aka Bobi Wine has expressed his disappointment with the way fellow musicians are easily turning into beggars, traveling to Gulu to beg Museveni's brother Salim Saleh for money.

The singer turned politician has on Thursday come out in a lengthy social media post to question why artists are not invited to the ministry that handles arts but instead running to Gen. Salim Saleh in Gulu district to seek for "hand outs" due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic that crippled their works.

As one of the founders of the UMA, the National Unity Platform, NUP Party Principal has revealed how their main objective was to unite Ugandan musicians and fight against their injustices manifested in the current regime, but he’s saddened that the group has instead turned into Uganda Beggars’ Association.

According to Bobi Wine, Gen Salim Saleh has nothing like single knowledge to do with the organizing of the arts industry.

Below is an extract from the veteran musician's statement in regards to artists receiving "hand outs" from the government;

1-Borrowing a leaf of a story from former Soviet Union dictator Joseph Stalion, Bobi Wine says local artistes are stupid to be hoodwinked by the regime to beg for "handouts" yet its responsible for crippling the industry.

2-Artistes should have stood with Bobi Wine than keeping silent when the regime was crippling their works with fake laws but have instead kept worshipping the person who destroyed the entire music industry.

3-The entire objective of the regime is to silence artistes so that the industry never produces again an artiste in the "Kyagulanyi" calibre who can speak for the truth.

4-Artistes have lost trusts from fans as they can no longer stand with them to raise their voice and speak on their behalf about touching issues mention; poverty, hunger, diseases and oppression.

5-Its a deliberate destruction of the local music industry by the regime with a sustained plan of keeping everyone poor hence begging for survival.

6-The regime's objective is divide artistes and cause them to fight against each other since Museveni believes in divide and rule concept.

7-Local artists have accepted to sell their souls to the ruling regime.
