National Unity Platform (NUP) and Kawempe North MP-elect Mohammed Ssegirinya has on Thursday 20th beaten the deadline day to swear in as the Kawempe North member of Parliament.

Mr Updates sneaked into the country in the wee hours of Thursday morning so as to beat the deadline swearing in day and take his oaths of allegiance as an MP in the 11th parliament.

The controversial legislator has been unwell with a poor health condition and despite getting back on his feet just days to swearing-in of elected legislators, he had to hit the parliament while moving on crutches and help from Saudah Madada, Leader of the People Power Special Forces.

Ssegirinya was rushed to Nairobi for further treatment in April after he complained of ear and abdominal complications following his release from Kitalya Prison.

While on his sick-bed in Nairobi, Ssegirinya, in a recorded video clip said that he had been diagnosed with liver complications. He asked Ugandans to pray for him because someone wanted him dead.

Ssegirinya defeated Latif Ssebagala in the January 14th polls to become the new representative of Kawempe North in Parliament.
