Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago who fainted and was whisked away during the Requiem Mass in honour of the late Archbishop Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga at Lubaga Cathedral on Easter Monday, 5th April 2021 has now been flown back to Nairobi Hospital for better treatment.

Lukwago who was seated in the area reserved for VIPs, was lifted by two men and evacuated through the door linking to the priest’s residence shortly after collapsing on Monday afternoon.

It is still unclear why Lukwago collapsed but according to Doreen Nyanjura, Erias Lukwago is in Nairobi.

“Warm Greetings to you citizens! Following a recurring dizziness, persistent abdominal discomfort and severe chest pain despite attending several medical facilities in Kampala. Including Lubaga Hospital, Platinum Hospital, Case Hospital, Norvic Hospital among others, the Lord Mayor was referred to Nairobi Hospital for further management. Consequently, he traveled to Nairobi earlier this week, arrived safely and was checked into Nairobi Hospital,” Nyanjura posted on Twitter.

Last year, Lukwago was admitted to Nairobi hospital after being diagnosed with acute anaphylaxis, an allergic reaction to some foods, insects, stings and medicine.
