Amelia Kyambadde, Uganda's Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives has come out and blamed her loss to Dr. Hilderman as MP for Mawokota to MRM's unpopularity in the country as she claims people Love her but they hate her Party.
Amelia was speaking out about defeat in her Mawokota County North constituency in Mpigi District. “We have overstayed and people are tired” ~ Hon. Amelia Kyambadde stated during an interview with a local TV station.
"I have endeavored to ensure that the government programmes get to Mawokota North, such as electricity, water and so on, and my focus has been so much on health” she asserted.
“But I must confess that I did not focus so much on the youth,” she said. “For example, I have done two terms. Why do I want to come back? We should also allow space for the young people. That’s why for me I accepted the defeat. We need to bring them on board, listen to them because it’s a voice, message and statement” she added.
Kyambadde, who has held the position for the last 10 years, reveals that to an extent, people lost interest in her because of her long stay, while others grew tired of her party.
