Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s brother Godfrey Aine Kaguta commonly known as ‘Sodo Kaguta’, has withdrawn from race for Mawogola North MP seat just hours to the election and left the race for Sam Kuteesa's daughter

Aine reportedly communicated through his campaign team that he was pulling out the race, although he did not provide reasons behind his withdrawal which has left many of his fans disappointed and in confusion.

Shartsi had earlier challenged Sodo for the party ticket in the highly contested NRM primaries which were marred with violence and ended in court with her petitioning the Party Secretariat alleging that there were lots of malpractice.

Sodo went to court to reverse this decision since he claimed to have won the primaries.Court ordered that Sodo must hold the party ticket in the 2021 general elections but now he has pulled out of the race.

The ruling National Resistance Movement party has said they are happy with the decision by Godfrey Aine Kaguta, also known as Sodo to withdraw from the Mawogola North Member of Parliament race.
