Uganda Cranes played a one all stalemate with Cameroon in one of the three matches of the Pre-CHAN tournament also in Yaounde Cameroon.

Uganda fell behind in the 13th minute when Cameroon captain Banga Bidjeme headed well past Joel Mutakubwa to hand the home side a lead despite Uganda dominating the game from the kick off whistle.

Uganda played close to 80 minutes with a man down after Police FC forward Ben Ochen was judged for having elbowed his opponent.

As the clock read 70 minutes, Uganda got matters levelled after an inter-play between Walter Ojera and Milton Kariisa culminated into the latter scoring for Uganda to bag a point in the game.

Despite the draw, coach Jonathan McKinstry was impressed with the confidence the players manifested.

‘We said coming into this tournament was not about results. It was about taking on the host Nation and other top opposition. We wanted to come here and prepare for the main tournament. We encouraged our players to be confident even when we lost one of them. We created chances even with a man less but the equalizer was well deserved'.

Uganda's next match will be against Zambia on 4th Jan 2021 (4pm Local Time, 6pm EAT) before taking on Niger on 7th Jan 2021 (4pm Local Time, 6pm EAT).
