Nigerian Afro-Fusion singers Omah Lay and Tems defied the odds thereby shaming Big Size Bebe Cool by staging a successful concert at Speke Resort Munyonyo last Saturday.
The 'Lo Lo and Damages' singers staged The Big Brunch singers AfroBeats Edition that saw the seemingly hungry revelers get out of the lockdown stress to party like no more.
It must be remembered that trough a social media post which he later deleted days back, the Gagamel Music Band CEO had vowed to suffocate the Nigerian artistes' show down after all Ugandan artistes too had been denied access to stage performance since March in respect to the set Ministry of Health guidelines against the spread of COVID-19.
With several local artistes still swimming in extreme poverty because of being jobless yet the government had not supported them with compensation despite adhering to the strict COVID-19 health guidelines, Bebe Cool expressed his dissatisfaction as he believed the development would be a bit unfair to the local entertainment industry.
"I have reliable information that there will be a convert in Uganda BH some two Nigerian artists in Uganda. I beg the organizer to immediately cancel this act with due respect. I'm a Ugandan artist and will stand in for me and fellow artists who have been stopped from performing in Uganda all these months due to COVID-19 and we respected the rules and regulations. What hurts me is that many sectors have at least been compensated but not Ugandan artists. Even if we have not been compensated or given any financial help by government in form of support, at least let us not not be looked down at like this. Many of my fellow artistes are financially struggling and their carriers are at stake and then this,No. Get this Monet and pay Ugandan artist only for now even if covid-19 is not in consideration for this event. Let me hope this is a dream am in coz if its real, I will make every effort to fail this event," lamented the furious Bebe Cool.
Despite the "Pass n go" singer's threats, Omah Lay and Tems highly anticipated concert went down successfully as planned last Friday.
