Melbet UG unveils a sponsorship deal with Kyetume Football Club

MelBet Uganda has taken over the sponsorship of the Startimes Premier League team Kyetume Football Club in a Multimillion deal to see the Mukono side facilitated throughout the 2020/2021 Uganda Premier League season that is yet to start on December 3rd 2020.

Kyetume Football Club – the Slaughterers, a club that was promoted to the Uganda Premier League in 2019/2020 season finished its first season with 30 points in the 11th position from 25 games in a season that ended prematurely due to the Coronavirus Pandemic that forced football activities to halt in Uganda and in other parts of the world.

Having faced with downturns during the season and the COVID-19 crisis, the club will benefit from MelBet Uganda’s noble gesture of supporting Uganda Sports through Corporate Social responsibility CRS.

Reuben Mubiru the President Kyetume FC thanked MelBet for the cooperation and tasked other Ugandan companies to support local football through sponsorship to help in having competitive football in Uganda.

MelBet CEO Kanyesigye Andrew described the relation between MelBet Ug and Kyetume FC as a marriage that will see the two entities work together for the long term on an undisclosed amount that includes revenue share agreement.

Kyetume FC has invested $30,000 in developing Nakisunga Saza Grounds to FUFA standards as they intend to make the stadium their home stadium in the coming season once approved by FUFA. MelBet has additionally promised to aid the club in acquisition of Match and training kits, welfare of players, talent development and other operational expenses.

MelBet Uganda is a Ugandan betting company that established its operations in Uganda in June this year.

Kyetume FC is the only football club from Greater Mukono Region (Mukono, Lugazi, Buikwe, Kayunga and Buvuma districts) to represent in the Uganda Premier League and is the only club in to play in the top tier of Ugandan league football ever since Lugazi United was relegated in 2005.
