Uganda U-20 national team, the "Hippos" have today Monday 23rd November,2020 played to a barren stalemate with S. Sudan as both sides opened up their campaign in the AFCON U-20 CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers.
The result leaves both sides in a must win situation ahead of their last group matches. Uganda (The Hippos) play their next match on Wednesday 25th November,2020 against Burundi.
Referee Saddam Houssein Mansour from Djibouti led the officials in the match helped by Abdi Mohammed Nour (Somalia) and Liban Abdourazak Ahmed (Djibouti) as first and second assistant referees respectively.
Hosts Tanzania flagged off this year’s CECAFA U-20 on Sunday 22nd November as they beat Djibouti 6:1 at the Black Rhino Academy Stadium with the tournament set to run until December, 2020.
The winner of the tournament will represent the CECAFA Zone in the AFCON U-20 Championship slated to take place in Mauritania from February and March 2021.
