Bobi Wine Expected to Appear in Iganga Court Today

After him being arrested at Nalufenya Prison for over 48 hours, presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine is today (20th November) expected to appear in Iganga court to be charged and released.

At the chief Magistrates court in Iganga, A police truck carrying what looks like Video conferencing equipment. There is a cable running from the truck to the court. The hearing could be a digital one, but all signs indicate that there will be a hearing today.

Kyagulanyi was arrested in Luuka on Wednesday for reportedly flouting guidelines for the prevention of Coronavirus, sparking riots across Uganda.

He was detained at Nalufenya Police station in Jinja.

It is alleged Kyagulanyi and others still at large on November 18 around 11:00am at Luuka town council, knowingly or having reason to believe that it was likely to spread infectious disease mobilised and addressed a campaign rally of more than 200 people who were not respecting standard operating procedures of Electoral Commission and Ministry of Health, an act likely to spread the infectious disease.
