Sports Club Villa held a Press Conference at Sheraton Hotel to give a Status Update on the progress of the Interim Committee and addressed the ownership status of the club. It has now been made a community club for every Ugandan who wants.
Founded in 1975, SC Villa is Uganda's top flight league record champion winning it on sixteen occasions. Despite the milestone, SC Villa has been uncertainty over ownership and lacked leadership.
However, in a meeting that was held today, the following was reached.
Firstly on the sporting continuity, the interim Committee was hailed for the success achieved having managed to not only compete and finish third in the league last season but also provided players to the national team.
On who owns the club:
Founded in 1975 as Nakivubo Villa and later changed to SC Villa, the club has been faced with the problem of ownership. Whereas there has been very many well intended efforts to to streamline the ownership of the club, nothing came close to solving the problem.
"Today we introduce and announce the "VILLA MEMBERS TRUST" as the owners of Sport Club Villa". Part of the club statement read.
Villa Members Trust Incorporated under the Trust Incorporation Act (CAP 165) as a body corporate. The board of trustees shall be the custodians of the Villa Members Trust.
Legibility of being a Villa Trustee Member.
The Villa Member Trust shall be composed of sports club Villa fans who Shall have paid an annual membership fee of 50,000UGX.
Responsibility of the Member of the Villa Member Trust.
Vote for the Sports Club Villa President once every four (4) years. Entitled to a season Individual season ticket per season of full subscription.
